Road Closure Information

The Rebel Sport City to Surf for Activ, with mapping partner Landgate, have developed an interactive Road Closure Map to identify all Road Closures, Course Crossing Points and Recommended Alternate Routes in place on Sunday 29th August. The interactive road closure map is designed to assist you to move about Perth city and the western suburbs on race day for the 2010 Rebel Sport City to Surf for Activ.

You can view this map here.

HOW TO READ THE ROAD CLOSURE MAP

The file will automatically open in Flash Player in your web browser. If you do not have Flash Player installed you can do so here.

The file works in a similar fashion to Google Earth or Google Maps; you can zoom in or out with the +/- buttons and navigate your way in all directions using the arrows and buttons in the top right hand corner of your screen. Alternatively, by holding down the left mouse button and dragging the map in the desired direction you can navigate to different areas of the map.

The map covers the entire course of the Rebel Sport City to Surf for Activ, as well as the immediate surrounding areas in all directions, so you can find the recommended alternate routes closest to your destination.

The default view on the map shows Road Closures at 7.00am. Users can select the 'time of day' buttons across the bottom of the map screen to see the Road Closures throughout the day of the City to Surf and can zoom and pan the map using the navigation controls on the top right hand corner.

We have identified recommended alternate routes to avoid the congested areas and closed roads; these are shown on the map in bold blue. There are also a number of dedicated course crossing points, indicated in green, which will be managed by traffic controllers at different times throughout the day. Please note these course crossing points will close at specified times when participants are on the road. Crossing points will only re open to traffic once the bulk of runners have passed through the intersection. All times shown are estimates.
