
2009 saw the inaugural run of the City to Surf Marathon. The event has seen continued growth and can boast the success of being the largest field ever assembled in WA for
a 42.2km race. 2011 will see the picturesque event return for run
number three.
The 2011 Marathon is an opportunity to
challenge yourself to achieve something very special, a reward for
commitment and desire. Whether you are looking for the ultimate physical
challenge, or the ultimate mental challenge, this event is here for you
to achieve something amazing.
Course – 42.2km |
The Marathon course takes in the beautiful sights of Perth,
Western Australia. Runners will start in the CBD and travel along the
magnificent Swan River for the first 21kms before entering Kings Park,
Perth’s number one tourist attraction, with its remarkable expanses of
unique bushland and tranquil parkland. Upon exit of the park it’s a 12km
journey to one of Perth’s many stunning beaches of the Indian Ocean,
City Beach, where the finish precinct offers a unique festival
atmosphere with support from locals and participants in other events. |

| The Start |
Esplanade Park Start Precinct Map
Start Time: 6am Assemble at Alf Curlewis Gardens (along The Esplanade, Perth)
Participants must be there by 5.30am
Warm ups will be conducted at Alf Curlewis Gardens (along The Esplanade, Perth) prior to your run.

Clothing Service |
A free clothing service to transport runners
clothing items from the start line to the finish line will be operated
on race day. For full details on this service please see the Official
Race Guide which will be available to download in August.

Your Kit will also be back in 2011 – a service that encourages
participants to wear old clothes down to the start line and donate them
to charity before the commencement of their race. |

On Course – Aid Stations
|
Water stations are located approximately every 2km along the course. Gu
Energy Gel is available at intervals along the course. (Please note: Water is also available at these stations). |

Qualifying times for Priority Start
|
In order to qualify for a Priority Start position, runners must prove that they can run the following times: Men: <2hrs 20mins Women: <2hrs 40mins
All participants must be 18 years and over on August 28.

There will be a 6.5 hour cut off for the Marathon. |
