Happy Training!

2010 Prime Health Group Training Guides are now available for the Marathon, Westpac Half Marathon, Channel Nine 12km Run and the 12km Walk. There are different guides for varying fitness levels. For your Rebel Sport City to Surf for Activ training guide send your NAME, EVENT, E-MAIL ADDRESS and FITNESS LEVEL (Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced) to citytosurf@csports.com.au and we'll send you a personalised guide fo get you in shape for the 2010 event.

There are numerous benefits to running. Not only will running just three times a week for 20 to 40 minutes help you get your dream body (a 60kg woman will burn over 230 calories after just 20 minutes of easy running), but you can also lower your risk for heart disease, boost your bone density, and improve muscle tone, too. Plus, all of those mood-inducing endorphins that are released as you run make running a well-known stress-reducer. Read more here and get motivated!

WIN AN ALL EXPENSES PAID TRIP FOR 2 TO THE 2010 AFL GRAND FINAL
Footy season is upon us and fan rivalry is rife with first blood going to the Dockers camp. This year, tying in with WA's biggest community sports event, we want to know which West Australian Football Club has the fittest supporters.

When you register we'll be asking you to tell us where your allegiance lies and we'll add it to our tally. It's DOCKERS v EAGLES and the team showing the most registrations by event day will be deemed the club with the fittest supporters.

One person from the winning club will be drawn at random and receive an all expenses paid trip for two to the 2010 AFL Grand Final at the MCG in Melbourne.

"I urge all Freo supporters to get fit and healthy and participate in this iconic WA event. In 2010 we can win on the field, and off"
Aaron Sandilands, Fremalte Dockers Ruckman

Robert on course in the
inaugural City to Surf Marathon
in 2009 - Happy at 3
1kms!

Robert Watson took up running only two years ago as a way to lose weight and embark on a healthier lifestyle. In this time, Robert has lost 17kgs and conquered an impressive list of marathons around the globe.

Robert has already completed the Chicago Marathon, London Marathon, and the 2009 Perth City to Surf Marathon. This week he is set to take on the Boston Marathon, before setting his sights on a return run in Perth on August 29.

Having taken part in these major events all over the world, Robert has a soft spot for his home town race and enjoys the tough City to Surf Marathon course. “I was very excited when the City to Surf announced a marathon and I ran my personal best time of 3hr 17min last year. It is by far the most beautiful course I have ever run
and I aim to break the 3 hour mark this year.”

WIth his sights set on a sub 3 hour time, a mammoth effort for even the most seasoned of runners, Robert has found extra inspiration this year by raising money for Activ as part of his registration.

We wish Robert all the best in Boston and then for the Sub 3 in Perth, and thank him for his support of Activ and the work they do in our community.
