Charlie’s Angels are four best
friends who are participating in the Appealathon 12km Walk and
taking part in the Activ Charity Challenge by fundraising for The
Leukemia Foundation. The team consists of Laurie
Davidson, Rachel Foy, Kim Parkin and Jess Henham-Barrow,
all 21.
This is the first time the girls have taken
part in the event together and they are currently underway in their
training for the big day. The four friends are participating in
honour of Lavanya Scholes, who lost her battle with Acute Myeloid
Leukemia last year, after a 16 month fight at only 27 years of age.
Out of 13 million registered bone marrow donors worldwide, none were
a match for Lavanya. A worldwide search for a donor sparked media
interest across the globe as people were being tested in a bid to
save Lavanya's life, but sadly Lavanya lost her battle to the
disease in December 2009.
We wish the girls luck
in their aim to raise $3,000 to help fund patient support and vital
research into better treatments and cures. To read more or to donate
