 We
are excited to announce Australia's greatest marathon runner, Rob de
Castella, is the official event ambassador for the 2011 Chevron City
to Surf for Activ.
Mr de Castella said the event appealed to
him as an ex-elite athlete because he now had the opportunity to
promote a healthy lifestyle to Western Australians.
While he will not be
running on Sunday August 28th, Mr de Castella will be involved in a
number of official duties, including starting the Marathon and 12km
events.
Rob de Castella represented
Australia at four Olympic Games, won gold at two Commonwealth Games
and was voted the World's Best Marathon Runner of the
1980s.
