If you have arranged a bus to pick your team up from City Beach Oval, you must pre-arrange a bus permit. These passes need to be displayed on event day to grant the bus access to the designated bus zone. A map will be provided to you along with your permit.

Due to road closures, strict deadlines apply to bus arrival and pick up times. Busses must be at the oval by 9am and cannot leave until 1.30pm under any circumstance.

There is no parking at City Beach Oval so we recommend teams arrange a bus and bus permit or take advantage of the free public transport for all participants, thanks to Transperth.

Please contact us to arrange a bus permit: citytosurf@csports.com.au.

Chevron City to Surf for Activ Ambassador, Rob de Castella advises all participants to familiarise themselves with the course before race day in order to feel more comfortable on course.

"Get out there and run the last couple of km’s or the last half for a training run. Come race day it's one less pressure to have your bearings and know how far you have to go and any surprises such as hills or hairpins that stand between you and the finish line", he said.

Mr de Castella said this way participants would be one step ahead and could pace themselves according to where they are.

"Locate large iconic landmarks and navigate how far you have to go in relation to these as things will look drastically different on race day with thousands of other runners and spectators", he said.

Rob de Castella represented Australia at four Olympic Games, won gold at two Commonwealth Games and was voted the World's Best Marathon Runner of the 1980s.

All Transperth services are free to participants and volunteers on race day. Simply show your race bib (or volunteer accreditation) to travel. Additional services are in place to deal with crowds and to ensure quick and easy travel.

All participants are advised to utilise the free transport services. Parking and road access is limited so anybody travelling by car can expect long delays.

Not participating in this year’s Chevron City to Surf for Activ but want to cheer on your friends and family?

The heart of Subiaco will come alive with the SUBI SPECTATOR ZONE on Sunday 28th August as over 30,000 people run and walk past in the 12km distance. There will be roving entertainment and Nova will be broadcasting live from Nat’s Balcony Party at their studio.

Head down to the intersection of Hay Street and Rokeby Road on Sunday 29th August between 9am-12pm to be part of the action.

For most, completing a marathon is a personal endeavour but for Terri Budge, she will complete this year’s Chevron City to Surf for Activ Marathon while pushing her friend, Joyce Allen, in an adult stroller all in the name of fundraising and raising awareness.

The marathon will be by no means easy for Mrs Budge who will be pushing over 70kg extra through the notoriously challenging course.

Mrs Budge said completing the course would be a fantastic experience for Joyce as running had been a long time passion of hers. “Joyce started running late in life and loved it but now she is confined to a wheelchair most of the time,” Mrs Budge said.

After completing the 2009 City to Surf for Activ Half Marathon, Ms Allen, 67, was training for the 2010 marathon when she was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease.

Be sure to cheer Terri and Joyce on if you see them on race day.
